Professional Representation for Fisheries and Allied Workers

The Uganda Fisheries and Allied Workers' Union (UFAWU) is a national workers' organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advancing the rights, welfare, and interests of workers engaged in Uganda's fisheries and allied sectors. The Union brings together fishers, fish processors, traders, transporters, and other workers across the fisheries value chain to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are protected. As a democratic and member-driven Union, UFAWU upholds the principles of solidarity, transparency, accountability, equality, and social justice. By fostering unity among workers and promoting meaningful social dialogue, we strive to create a thriving fisheries sector that benefits workers, employers, communities, and the nation as a whole.

Uganda Fisheries and Allied Workers Union (UFAWU) is a registered trade union dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights, welfare, and interests of workers in Uganda’s fisheries and allied sectors. Through collective bargaining, worker representation, training, and advocacy, UFAWU works to improve working conditions, ensure fair labor practices, and empower workers to achieve better livelihoods and workplace protection.
