Building a Strong Voice for Workers

For generations, Uganda's fisheries sector has supported livelihoods, food security, and economic growth. The Uganda Fisheries and Allied Workers' Union (UFAWU) was established to ensure that the workers behind this vital industry have a strong and unified voice.

Since its establishment, UFAWU has remained committed to promoting workers' rights, improving working conditions, and advancing social and economic justice across Uganda's fisheries and allied sectors.

What began as a movement for representation has grown into a respected institution advocating for thousands of workers employed in fisheries, aquaculture, fish processing, transportation, and related industries.

Through collective action, social dialogue, and strategic partnerships, UFAWU continues to strengthen workers' voices and create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
